摘要：
The problem of miniaturizing ultrasonic instruments is discussed. One such miniaturized ultrasonic instrument is A1207 thickness meter manufactured by MSIA Spectrum. The instrument is controlled by just two button: one used for tuning it on and the other is used for selecting one of several predefined velocities of ultrasonic waves. The instrument implements the 'complete digital path' ideology that ensures stability of parameters, flexibility and versatility of the circuits, and stable readings for test objective with varying surface qualities.
