THE CONTRIBUTION OF CAPITAL MARKET TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF ROMANIA

The topic was chosen because it is an interest and a topical issue in the ongoing development and integration of financial markets, the stock market gaining increasing importance in the modem financial systems. The globalization of financial markets worldwide had favorable effects on the Romanian financial system, the consolidation of existing legislation in this area and the creation and development of viable financial services markets, enabling trading of modem financial instruments. Despite the poor performance of the Romanian capital market performance compared to developed European equity markets, the Romanian capital market still experienced a favorable evolution in recent years. Finally, a strong motivation in the choice of research topic was related to my interest to this particular area of capital markets.
