摘要
Basing on reports and numerous publications, the statement that more than half of businesses in Poland are aware of the idea of Industry 4.0 may be made. Many companies have already launched initiatives enabling introduction of some technological solutions in this area. Business needs and awareness of the spheres that require further optimization are usually quite well defined in case of big companies. In contrary, in the Polish small and medium-sized enterprises sector, the introduction of the Industry 4.0 solutions is more complicated. SME's have to face more serious barriers comparing to larger companies. The paper presents preliminary results of research aimed at identification of the barriers to the Industry 4.0 concept introduction within the SME sector in Poland
