摘要
Application of the Brazilian accounting standards converged to international ones covered changes that culminated in the adoption of a new institutional standard and among the alterations arising from this process, the greater disclosured of fixed assets is highlighted. Thus, this study aims to identify the compliance level of the industrial segment regarding the disclosure proposed by the NBC TG27 (R4) in companies based in Rio Grande do Sul, from the perspective of institutional theory. To achieve this goal, the sample was composed of 37 private industries that published their financial statements in the Diario Oficial of the state for the years 2010 to 2016. Through these data the compliance index (IC) was constructed and later this was analyzed descriptively under the Institutional Theory. The Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was also performed to identify if there are differences between certain characteristics of the companies and the level of compliance before the standard. The results showed that there was na Evolution of 11% in the compliance level in the period for the analyzed sample. From the perspective of the Institutional Theory, it was verified that the procedure of institutionalization of the industries occurred in a gradual way in all the requirements of the accounting norm referring to fixed assets. It has also been identified that certain company characteristics such as current size and liquidity index may affect the level of compliance with the standard.
