The role of the Roman Catholic Church in the service provision of education in Slovenia and Hungary

摘要
The author presents a comparative analysis of the development of the role of the Roman Catholic Church in the service provision of education in the post-socialist countries, Slovenia and Hungary. The analysis shows that there are important differences between the countries in the education policies as they relate to denominational educational institutions, and how these institutions are embedded in the education system. This is manifested in different models of the relations between government and denominational educational institutions. In Slovenia the relationship is characterized by the model of "separated dependence" while Hungary follows the model of "integrated dependence". These differences have resulted in a more extensive growth of denominational educational institutions in Hungary than in Slovenia.
