摘要
The lexicon constitutes an important domain in the construction of the identity of a language, revealing the complex processes of variation and change in its socio-historical process. Therefore, this work intends to discuss the lexical variation in function of its registration in lexicographic works, observing, namely, the context in which the ones of historical-variational perspective are inserted, especially the dialectal lexicographic works, from a review on the traditional typology adopted until today by some scholars of the area. Finally, a new taxonomic proposal for this branch of knowledge is presented, as well as a reflection on the need to register lexical variation more broadly.
