Allognosta njombe, new species, is described from localities around the north end of Lake Nyassa in Tanzania (type locality) and Malawi. A key to the four known species of Afrotropical Allognosta is provided. Additional locality records are given for A. stuckenbergae Lindner and A. tessmanni Enderlein.
