Study on the Characteristic Industry Clusters and Low Carbon Urbanization Development-the Case of Hubei Province, China

Urbanization is the necessary path for the modernization transformation of China. Clusters are geographic concentrations of interconnected companies and institutions in a particular field. During urbanization, characteristic industry clusters are important to realize resource, environment and economy integration and achieve harmonious development. Up to date, Hubei has not formed a complete industrial chain due to the deficiencies of collaboration between enterprises, and intermediary service organizations and public institute. In this context, the province should follow the principles of low carbon economy and develop low carbon transportation and green logistics; foster industry clusters; integrate local resources so as to build characteristic regional brands, and enhance financial supports for characteristic industry clusters.
