摘要
We use a discrete phenomenological model to find theoretically the dielectric response of antiferroelectric liquid crystals in harmonic external electric fields. We find an analytical expression for the dielectric loss in terms of the eigenfrequencies of the phase and the amplitude mode. The temperature dependence of the dielectric loss is presented for the SmC*(A), SmC*(alpha) and SmC* phases.
