EPR and magnetic susceptibility investigation of MnO-Bi2O3 glasses

摘要
EPR and magnetic susceptibility measurements performed on xMnO. (100-x)Bi2O3 glasses, within 0<xless than or equal to50 mol%, are reported. When increasing the manganese content the EPR absorption spectra undergo modification reflecting structural changes of the matrix and also the distribution of manganese ions on sites and valence states. The magnetic susceptibility data pointed out the character of interaction involving manganese ions as depending on concentration and the simultaneous presence of both Mn2+ and Mn3+ ionic speciesfor xgreater than or equal to3 mol%.
