摘要
The article aims to address the broader topic of rural heterogeneity by analysing differences in well-being among older residents (60+) in five different types of small municipalities in the Czech Republic (small towns, transitional urban municipalities, transitional other municipalities, rural municipalities, significantly and extremely rural municipalities). It also inquires whether residential differences can be attributed to the varying accessibility of selected kinds of services and facilities (shops, medical facilities, miscellaneous facilities). Using survey data from 2016, it is shown that older dwellers in transitional and rural types of small municipalities fared somewhat worse than their counterparts in small towns. The intervening effect of accessibility was limited, especially where the availability of medical facilities was concerned.
