Limiting operating conditions of a high-precision rapid-cycling bubble chamber

摘要
The effect of irreversible heat release on the ability of a high-precision rapid-cycling liquid-hydrogen bubble chamber to function at a bubble density of 240 cm(-1) was studied. For this operating mode, the bubble growth rate and bubble localization uncertainties due to thermal distortions were determined. The problem of how the trigger dead time concerned with the effective volume (of the second-level trigger) should be taken into account in this operating mode was considered.
