The consumption of time among Mexican-American students: An exploratory study

Time is a scarce resource. Apart from the time spent on work, individuals can decide how to consume their discretionary time. However, the amount of time one spends on one activity versus the other is a trade-off decision. The purpose of this study is to explore how individuals would trade-off their discretionary time versus productive time in a Mexican-American student population. The results suggest that there is a trade-off between productive time versus time spent with (a) entertainment activities, (b) family and friends, and (c) daily/weekly necessities.
