The wood properties of New Zealand silver beech (Nothofagus menziesii), a lesser-known hardwood species

摘要：
New Zealand silver beech (Nothofagus menziesii) is well recognized by New Zealand wood specialists as a medium density hardwood with excellent wood properties. This article aims to familiarize wood experts outside New Zealand with the wood of silver beech by comparing its physical and mechanical properties with some of the world's more recognized hardwood species.
