Holistic IMA Platform Configuration using Web-technologies and a Domain-specific Model Query Language

摘要
This work presents a novel method reducing the manual inputs required for the configuration of an Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) platform to a minimum. In the simplest case the user of the IMA platform is only interested in his system function interacting with the environment. We propose to model this minimum information set graphically with a model-based approach and automate the complete generation of the configuration, i.e. by means of Interface Control Documents (ICD), based on open-source meta-modelling and avionics model standards. We present a platform configuration method with a novel transaction-based model-query language, as well as a multi-user graphical interface based on web-technologies. We evaluate the concept with a software prototype for a real IMA platform and demonstrate the full chain from platform modeling to the configured modules in a test bench. The prototype validates that the method allows focusing on the aircraft systems, increases the awareness at the platform level, and significantly decreases the management of configuration parameters.
