Jonas, Heidegger and gnosticism: between appropriation of the method and criticism of content

This article analyzes the Heideggerian heritage of Hans Jonas' thinking. For that, it uses the concept of Gnosticism and the initial work of Jonas who tried to establish a "Gnostic principle" present both in mythologies and in the mystical philosophies of the first centuries of the Christian era. To this end, it analyzes the appropriation made by Jonas of the Heideggerian existential analytical method and, on the other hand, of the criticism of the philosophical content developed by Heidegger. After all, it is evident how the "principle of responsibility" can be recognized as an alternative to the principle of hostility and indifference, present in Gnostic and Heideggerian philosophy.
