摘要
According to the essential connotation and the results of the theoretical research on urban comprehensive power with raw (new) materials and recycled materials, 19 index systems for urban competitiveness evaluation are constructed from four aspects, which are the economic competitiveness, the hub and transmission function, the social service and the innovation capacity. In order to simplify the problem, the authors adopt the principal component analysis method to reduce the dimensions and obtain the comprehensive indices, calculate the score of each principal component, and then adopt the entropy method to calculate the principal component weight to construct the comprehensive evaluation function. In the end, the paper adopts the improved Principal component analysis (PCA) to evaluate the competitiveness of major cities in China environmental protection zone. The result shows that the combination of principal component analysis and entropy method makes the comprehensive evaluation of urban competitiveness more objective and justified.
