The Validity of Evaluating Body Composition of Sportsmen by Body Composition Analyzer

The present study measures the body composition of 402 subjects by means of In body 3.0 body composition analyzer. Furthermore, by comparing the actual average value with the standard one provided by the apparatus system in accordance with items and genders, the result reveals that the criteria for height offered by this analyzing system are low, while criteria for weight are high to sportsmen and sportswomen. The criteria for muscle are low to sportsmen, while high to sportswomen. There are no significant differences between the criteria for fat of sportsmen and sportswomen. Therefore, it can be concluded that the validity of evaluating the weight, height and muscle of sportsmen by the body composition analyzer is low.
