摘要
From the early 50(s) until the late 80(s) the, then in power, Communist party in Bulgaria waged a policy of forceful assimilation of the Muslim community in the so called "Revival Process". The tools used to achieve this consisted of forceful conversion of the Muslims' arabic names to Bulgarian ones, restrictions of using their native tongue and carriyng out traditional celebrations as well as practicing their religion. The process went on with powerful ideological propaganda. Along with the means of mass communication (the press, radio and TV), custom moulded interest oriented art was also used. Of course at one point this would come to include the big screen as well. The subject of the hereby study is showing how exactly cinema was used as propaganda during the "Revival Process".
