摘要：

Strong competition is the reason for each enterprise to improve quality and efficiency of product development. One possibility to achieve and defend a good position among successful enterprises is the preservation and reuse of existing expertise. This paper focuses on methods and strategies for an efficient access to documented product information. For this purpose the general process of a search for information will be analysed and user- and task-oriented strategies for the support of search processes be deduced. Finally, the theoretical concepts will be substantiated for dynamic and static information research by the examples of product requirements and past design solutions.
