Free-form deformation by using arbitrary topological mesh

摘要
A new interactive free-form deformation method is proposed in this paper. A large-scale mesh object is deformed by using an arbitrary topological control mesh of 2D manifold. The mesh object is mapped into an intermediate space which is spanned by the recursively subdivided control mesh. A designer is allowed to modify the shape of the mesh object either locally or globally by selecting the resolution of the original control mesh. Compared with previous object deformation methods, the proposed method has the advantages of flexible and fast interaction.
