摘要
This article presents a comprehensive set of recommendations for rehabilitation professionals concerning specialized housing policies, resources, and services for people with multiple sclerosis (MS). Based on information about the specialized housing needs and barriers of adults with MS collected through a representative national survey, a set of recommendations for rehabilitation professionals was developed. These recommendations were then reviewed and prioritized using the Delphi method, by a group of specialized housing experts, low-income housing services consultants, housing developers, transitional housing experts, and family members of adults with MS. The resulting recommendations are presented along with supporting data from the national survey and relevant information from the research literature. Together the recommendations represent a comprehensive national agenda for addressing the specialized housing needs of people with MS and other conditions that may impact mobility and functional capacity.
