摘要
Multinationals companies are a key element of the economic globalization. In spite of this, the opinions regarding the importance of multinationals for the global economy are very divergent. The economic theory did not offered a satisfactory explanation concerning the role of multinational companies and the connection between the multinationals and the economic growth theory. The traditional indifference of the economists toward the multinational companies begins to change as a response to the changes in theory and in practice: the global companies are more and more active, they are a vector for the technology transfer and foreign investment. This paper presents a theoretical review of the multinational companies in a globalized world and to identify the correlation between the activities of the multinationals and the economic growth. The multinational's contribution is not only quantitative through assets and indirect effects but also qualitative, as integrative, organizational and leading agents of certain economic activities. We can appreciate that the multinationals represent an engine for the economic growth.
