摘要
This paper investigates possible antecedents and drivers that affect the intention to adopt collaborative technologies in the construction industry. The innovation of this study is that it separates adoption factors, in antecedents and drivers closely related to the characteristics of this collaborative technology and to specific organisational characteristics of the construction industry. As antecedents we consider all the prerequisite resources that an organisation must possess in order to adopt a novel technology and as drivers we consider all the internal, external factors and perceived benefits that drive the decision to adopt such a novel technology. This distinction is necessary to highlight the prerequisite organisational elements preceding the adoption decision process. The findings of this exploratory study will highlight some very important factors tailored to the intention to adopt collaborative technologies in an industrial sector in which information technology (IT) penetration is very low and intensive collaboration is a prerequisite.
