摘要
We present TiO2 as a novel photonic material for broadband operation for low cost and low power consumption optical data center and telecom networks. Design of photonic integrated circuit building blocks like single mode polarisation independent waveguide, grating coupler with 40% coupling efficiency and compact-polarisation independent 1x2 MMI power splitter capable of broadband operation are discussed. The photonic integrated circuits enable disaggregate and scalable optical data center architectures as well as dynamic metro access switching nodes with edge computing functionalities.
