RESEARCH ON THE IMPACT OF FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT (FDI) ON CHINA REGIONAL ECOLOGICAL EFFICIENCY UNDER DIRECT AND INDIRECT ENVIRONMENTAL PERSPECTIVES

In recent years, with the continuous deepening of China economic reforms, the rapid development of Chinese economy has attracted a large number of foreign investors. The total amount of direct foreign investment has been increasing year by year. Foreign capital inflows also have a major impact on the ecological problems in China. The paper selects China statistical data from 2004 to 2016. From the perspective of direct and indirect effects, the Data envelopment analysis (DEA) and system Generalised method of moments (GMM) analysis methods are used to study the impact of FDI on China regional eco-efficiency. The results show that the impact of FDI on China regional ecological efficiency not only has a direct effect but also has an indirect effect, and the indirect effect is greater than the direct effect, and there is heterogeneity in the region. Finally, on the basis of empirical analysis, suggestions are put forward to improve regional ecological efficiency, which has certain practical significance for the sustainable development of regional economy.
