摘要
The maximum amount of load demand is supplied through batteries instead of a PV array for standalone applications in rural areas. This demands proper and equal battery source utilization for multilevel inverters (MLIs) with multiple sources for maintaining a better life of the battery. In this regard, a two-source nine-level MLI topology with the characteristics of equal source utilization is proposed. The number of voltage levels further increased either by increasing the number of switches or cascaded connection of the cell for improving the quality of the waveform. The proposed topology has the capability of equal voltage source utilization, which increases the balance in the charge of batteries by proposing a new switching method for generating gate pulses. The effectiveness and robustness of the developed topology are carried out under various operating conditions in the Simulink environment. Finally, an experimental test bench of the developed topology is built and the acquired experimental results validate the simulation results.
