Microsurgical reconstruction of obstetric brachial plexus lesions: Is late repair possible?

There are only few arguments in favour of the jate" repair (i.e. later than 4 months in a total and 9 months in an upper or extended upper lesion): a child with severe palsy presenting late at a first consultation; an Erb's palsy progressing well under physiotherapy and then remaining unchanged with limited, but unacceptable functional deficit; the need for delaying planned surgery for severe disease (e.g. lung infection).
