摘要：

Character recognition is a study direction in area of pattern recognition and artificial intelligence. It need unite the technique of pattern recognition and image process. A recognition algorithm based on projection method for Manchu character. recognition is proposed. It is an attempt to Manchu offline character recognition. In the process of recognition, the projection method, which unites entropy and Euclid distance is used for recognition. In order to decrease the error of recognition, which is produced when calculate Euclid distance with dimensions vectors, a new method is adopted.
