Several factors - including the prevailing shortage of radiologists, the increasing use of advanced imaging methods, the consolidation of hospitals into regional delivery systems, and heightened expectations of patients find referring physicians for timely service - have fostered the increasing use of teleradiology. © RSNA, 2007.
