摘要
Based on simplifying assumptions, Lee & Ip (1987) predicted the magnetic fluctuation energy spectrum generated by the incorporation of interstellar pickup hydrogen and helium into the solar wind. This paper reviews the context and content of Lee & Ip (1987), the general importance of pickup ions in the solar wind, and subsequent work to identify their contribution of fluctuation energy to the solar wind.
