摘要
The main aim of this paper is to create ontology of software/systems development (SD) terminologies that are used by stakeholders in the software/systems development process. This ontology can then be shared among software/systems developers to minimize inconsistencies in the use of SD terminologies. It could also be used in organizations as a communication medium to create a language community amongst all stakeholders. This would increase the productivity of software/system development teams as well as improve their understanding with the users of the system. The paper gives a brief background to ontologies, methodologies and methods, as well as to the techniques and tools used to develop ontologies. This discussion positions stakeholders' understanding of the terminologies used during communication in the organization as the main driver for organizational success.
