摘要：
This article presents a review of experimental results on the shear viscosity of freely flowing nematic liquid crystals and the mixtures exhibiting a re-entrant nematic phase. Peculiarities in the viscosity temperature behaviour in the vicinity of the nematic to smectic A phase transition are discussed.
