Selected design aspects in CAN-bus system connected with signal propagation in real transmission lines

摘要
Purpose - The paper focuses on CAN-bus based systems: a determination of the configuration parameters by analysis of their characteristic structure, topology conditions and transmission properties. Design/methodology/approach - Voltage measurements were made in a test circuit of CAN-bus together with calculations of adequate waveforms with the help of elaborated programs. The signal parameters transmitted in bus lines were logged and measured using digital oscilloscope. Findings - The results allow some conclusions to be drawn about the correctness of assumptions in realising the configuration Originality/value - The results of the investigations have proved the possibilities of parameters calculation, required to choose relevant CAN controller configuration during the design.
