The politician lacanian in Stavrakakis

This article aims to explain Yannis Stavrakakis' view of Chantal Mouffe's politician in its articulation with Jacques Lacan's concept of the real. The proposal is allied to the Mouffean project of a new democratic model contemplating and welcoming its constitutive impossibilities, articulated to the Lacanian real -impossible to be represented. To this end, Mouffe's definition of political embodies the emergence of the real that never ceases to be written, destabilizing the practices of conventional politics. As a response from the authors, instead of denying the inconsistencies of politics and buffering them with utopian ideals, such a dimension of tension and fissure in democratic reality should be included.
