A correlation method for determination of residual non-wetting saturation

摘要
One of most important basic data of a recovery technology is residual non-wetting oil and/or gas saturation. This data determines maximum recovery factor, which bound for displacement process converges. Residual non wetting saturation is controlled by the initial saturation, rock structure and techniques are used to measure it. It frequently occurs that there are no measurements of this basic data for disposal of reservoir engineer and somehow he has to estimate it. A correlation algorithm is recommended which is based on those data, which are unfortunately very scarce in respective technical literature. The recommended method can be used both for carbonate and sandstone reservoirs respectively if the rock is water wet. Calculation examples are presented also.
