Necessity, challenges, and promises of peer-to-peer architecture of information systems

摘要
Information systems of large enterprises and/or organizations must be a confederation, i.e. it must have the structure of a peer-to-peer network of large autonomous components. We show the reasons why such a structure is necessary and what advantages it has not only in the case of large information systems. Challenges and software engineering problems (e.g. metrics for CMM) are discussed. The consequences for the education of both software experts and the "common" users of information technologies are mentioned.
