摘要：
He I photoelectron spectra and the UV spectra of four per-substituted 1,3-dicyanobenzenes were recorded and compared. The electronic structure of title compounds was analysed with the aid of empirical arguments and PM3 MO calculations. The caveats related to analysis of substituent effects are discussed.
