摘要
Sustainable construction is widely discussed among researchers since the late 1980s. On the general level, the aims of sustainable construction are implemented most actively in developed countries in which the construction output is limited. However in developing countries, the construction output is increasing and the aims of sustainable construction regarding economic and social issues are more crucial. Many research works have been conducted in investigating existing methods for promoting sustainable construction. However, little data has been collected on evaluating the effectiveness of these methods particularly between developed and developing countries. The purpose of this article is to report on the sustainable construction perceptions and practices between Hong Kong and Malaysia construction professionals. A pattern of perception (POP) framework for comparison was created. The results indicate that the perceptions and practices between the two countries are different.
