摘要
Polymeric materials containing chromophores are premising for electroluminescent (EL) device applications including displays and lighting. We report EL for a series of copolymers containing uniform conjugated chromophores and nonconjugated spacers. The emission color of the copolymers can be varied by adjusting the molecular structure to alter the energy gap between the HOMO and LUMO of the chromophore. The design can also be used to tailor other properties of the polymer, such as the glass transition temperature, by varying the length of the nonconjugated spacers.
