摘要
In this article we discuss educational actions as social practices linked to the preventive process of Dry Eye (DE) resulting from the use of videoterminals (VTDs). This study occurs through a systematic review of the literature that involves the health area (Ophthalmology) and the education area (Environmental Education - EE). This paper seeks to answer the following question: What social function does EE play in conjunction with the ophthalmic health area in preventing DE in users of VDTs? We also discuss, in this article, the educational actions in the prevention of DE by the use of VDTs adopted by the health area, as well as the role of EE in this process. It is relevant to highlight that the perspective of EE adopted in this study is based on dialectical materialism-historical, in contrast to the conservative (reductionist) understanding of education, which separates preventive educational practices from the socio-historical context.
