Corrosion behaviour of zinc coatings produced from electrolytes containing tungstate and molybdate ions

摘要
The properties of cut electrodeposited zinc may depend on several factors which include the organic additives, anions and cations present in the solution. In the present investigation, the effect of molybdate and tungstate ions added to zinc bath is considered on the improvement of the zinc properties. A mixed chloride zinc electrolyte containing these ions was chosen. Both have practically no effect on the current efficiency of zinc deposition, whereas an improvement in corrosion resistance in neutral 5% NaCl solution was observed.
