摘要
Accurate instrument dimensional data is crucial in modular, skid-mounted, offshore petroleum, and nuclear plant designs. The problem of precisely capturing in-line instrument vendor dimensional data is compounded by general lack of integration between instrumentation and 3D modeling software and corresponding work processes. This paper describes a solution involving exchange of vendor data between instrumentation and piping, thereby improving efficiency of designing instrumentation in piping models. A case study of the subject solution implemented by a major engineering and construction firm is also reviewed in terms of results and benefits.
