CFD-aided design for heat transfer surfaces of an automotive radiator

摘要
This paper is concerned with numerical experiments on flow structures in a heat exchanger channel with corrugated louvre fin geometry. The numerical predictions highlight the effect of different fin arrangements and louvre fin geometry, such as louvre pitch, fin pitch and louvre angle, on flow structures. On the basis of numerical calculations, an optimal geometry of the heat exchanger channel with corrugated louvre fins has been suggested. The numerical experiments supply useful data for improving the design of heat transfer surfaces in compact heat exchangers such as car radiators.
