Evaluation of an emergency medical center's information system

This paper is a Systems Engineering (SE) approach to a major emergency medical center's (EMC) information systems problems from the concept phase to the present. It analyzes a medical center that decided to invest in a computerized information system in order to improve its operation efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness. This also includes the financial aspects of the decision, benefits of the new system, the subsequent incurred problems, and recommendations. The contents of the analysis are based on factual and personal statements of the medical center's key managers who are directly involved in the decision-making process.
