摘要
Density measurements, molar volume data, DTA analyses and XPS results on xFe(2)O(3).(100-x)[4Bi(2)O(3).PbO] samples are presented in order to point out the effect of Fe2O3 addition to the lead-bismuthate matrix on the local order of this system. Fe2O3 acts as network modifier and determines by progressive addition the increase of the Structural volume difference between the hypothetical crystalline compounds and the quenched samples. The glass transition temperature also increases with Fe2O3 content. The XPS data indicate the migration of the metallic elements to the interior of the bulk-investigated samples.
