Mathematical modeling of the azimuthal anisotropy in thermoelasic properties of the oceanic upper mantle

摘要
The method of conditional moments is used for calculating thermoelastic properties of the Iherzolite model of the oceanic upper mantle. The symmetry of the properties is assumed to be rhombic. The model provides a good fit to experimental data. Substantial local deviatoric stresses are revealed in aligned enstatite grains. The stress relaxation can produce an intense plastic deformation in the absence of external shear strain. This effect is considered as an example of the possible structural and geodynamic self-organizing process in the Earth's interior.
