Globalization and the Russian Question" is understood by the author as an aspect of issues faced by Russia and Russians under conditions of global change. Looking back at Russia's socialist past allows singling out at least some important factors leading to the well-known result including the factor of Russian national character. Under new conditions Russians have to look for more market oriented values, for ways to re-educate Russian character (N.A. Berdiaev), without loosing archetypal traits, at that. A new rational economic model, so the author, for Russia and Russians would mean a) transition to economic development and high technologies, b) combining economic effectiveness with social justice. Or, as formulated in N. Il'in's words quoted in the article, "Body of the West soul of Russia".
