摘要
In this paper, a dipole antenna dedicated to VHF-UHF airborne application is presented. The use of a modified Loaded Electromagnetic Band Gap (LEBG) structure in close proximity to the radiating element gives rise to a thin and low-weight antenna with reproducible radiating performances. The initial antenna concept has been validated through measurements. Its radiating characteristics (high gain and shaped patterns) are significantly improved compared to the one of an existing antenna based on absorber backed summed dipoles. Finally, the communication highlights an optimized dipole antenna fitting with main requirements for next generation of low-frequency sensors.
