摘要
Open-end winding machine configuration provides better fault tolerance and flexibility for control compared with a conventional three-phase neutral connected electric motor. In this paper, three types of pulse width modulation (PWM) schemes - sinusoidal PWM, space vector PWM, and symmetrical sinusoidal PWM for open-end winding induction motor drives are being examined. The three PWM schemes are simulated in MATLAB/Simulink environment and their harmonic spectra are investigated for a 5.5 kW open-end winding induction motor. The current ripple under each PWM method is analyzed. Finally, the optimal switching strategy is discussed based on harmonic content, switching losses, and current ripple.
